Turn recurring monthly charges into the annual number that changes your mind.

What it does
List everything that leaves your account on a schedule — streaming, apps, cloud storage, gym, software, insurance, memberships — and the audit converts each monthly price into its yearly cost. A charge of 12.99 a month is easy to ignore; 155.88 a year is a number you have an opinion about.
How to use it
- Open your last two or three bank and card statements and your app-store subscription list.
- Add each recurring charge with its price and how often it is billed (weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly).
- Look at the annual total, then go down the list one line at a time.
- For anything with a renewal or free-trial end date, note the date you need to act by.
The question to ask
Don’t ask “have I used it lately?” — that only makes you feel guilty. Ask: would I sign up for this today, at this price? Something you use every day is good value however you frame it. Something opened twice since the summer usually decides itself once you see the yearly figure.
Tips that save money
- Mark your deadline two days before a trial converts and around thirty days before an insurance policy renews. Missing it by one day costs a whole billing cycle.
- Check for duplicates: two music services, two cloud-storage plans, or a family plan and a personal plan for the same thing.
- Many services offer a cheaper annual plan, an ad-supported tier or a retention discount when you start to cancel.
