Split itemised bills, proportional tips and settle up in fewer transfers.

What it does
Splitting a restaurant or group-trip bill evenly is simple but rarely fair. This tool lets you assign each item to whoever actually had it, spreads service charge and tip in proportion to what each person ordered, and then gives you the shortest list of who pays whom — usually one or two transfers instead of a tangle of six.
How to use it
- Add everyone at the table.
- Enter what each person has already paid. Usually one person has covered the whole bill.
- Add each item and assign it to the person or people who had it. A shared starter is split between the people who ate it; a single main belongs to one person.
- Set the service and tip percentages and your currency symbol.
- Read the settlement list at the bottom and send the transfers.
Why proportional tip is fairer
If one person had a steak and another had soup, adding the same tip to both isn’t fair. Service and tip here are added in proportion to what each person ordered, which is how most people would split it if they did the maths by hand.
